Hi! I’m a thirtysomething Midwesterner with a great library nearby. My love of reading started early when my dad would read me Little Golden Books Billy Goats Gruff and The Hungry Hippo. The love affair continued as I always read all the books assigned in high school and college. Since graduating, I have been a member of several book clubs; but I wanted yet another outlet to discuss bestsellers, out-of-prints, travel memoirs, or whatever else I happen to pick up! To help you decide whether you can trust my opinion on books, here are my thoughts on some:
Jane Austen is my favorite author because her satire is funny and her characters are memorable. I couldn’t finish The Corrections. YA series are a huge chunk of what I read: Chaos Walking, Twilight, Harry Potter, Animorphs, which yes I consider YA because the stuff Cassie dealt with was heavy, Graceling, Hunger Games. The worst book I have ever finished was maybe A Clockwork Orange. I guess clever phrases and terribly graphic violence don’t do it for me.
Fitfully, I will post a new book review on this site. A majority of the books will be fiction, but I do read nonfiction as well. I will also be taking requests; if you want me to review a book submit it on the Request-a-Review page. I won’t guarantee I’ll read it, but I might put it on the pile.
Fitfully as in fits of rage, spasms, cussing?
Sometimes!
The stuff Cassie dealt with WAS heavy!
My favorite Animorphs book is the one where Cassie morphs into a butterfly on the cover and she met that sympathetic Yeerk.
And I suppose it goes without saying that when I say “my favorite Animorphs book” I mean my favorite behind any and all Tobias books, which were the best of the series!
Can’t wait to read more about your reading! I love it.
